STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT & DISCIPLINARY POLICY FOR
LINCOLN SCHOOL PTO SPONSORED PROGRAMS, EVENTS OR ACTIVITIES

Thank you for your participation in a Lincoln PTO Sponsored program or event. In order to ensure our programs run smoothly and your child has a positive experience, we are asking that all parents and children read, understand, and adhere to the following CODE OF CONDUCT. By checking YES during registration, you are agreeing to the following guidelines:

Students are expected to treat teachers and volunteer leaders respectfully, as if in a Lincoln classroom during school hours. This includes letting others speak without interruption, raising your hand when you wish to speak, keeping comments kind and constructive, obeying the teacher/volunteers’ quiet signs, and no hitting or wrestling. Parents and Caregivers are also expected to pick up their student promptly at the end of the PTO program, event, or activity.

DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS

If a student disobeys any of these rules, the event lead/ teacher/volunteer can, at their discretion, take the following actions:

First Offense: Provide a verbal warning which restates the rule(s).

Second Offense: Provide additional verbal warning restating the rule(s) and a time out if needed. Additionally the caregiver on file will be notified by an email and/or phone call indicating the student received a second warning.
Additionally, PTO leadership and school principal may be notified.

Third Offense: If the student fails to respond to the event lead/teacher/volunteer warning, and continues the
previous behavior, begins a new disruptive pattern, or behaves disruptively, the student will be removed from
the PTO program without refund (if applicable). PTO leadership and school principal will also be notified.

If the event lead/teacher/volunteer witnesses a serious infraction meriting immediate dismissal from the program, they are not obligated to take all of the disciplinary steps outlined above. Additionally, if a student is removed from a PTO program, event or activity, the PTO reserves the right to bar that student from participating in any future PTO sponsored programs, events or activities.

PICK UP POLICY
Students will be dismissed at the time the program/event/activity ends. Please be prompt for pickup as the event lead/
teacher/volunteer is not required to stay any longer than 10 minutes past the posted end time of the PTO sponsored program, event, or activity. If there is a situation that you will be late, please call the Club’s Sponsor (listed in on Lincoln’s Webstore/Revtrak) as soon as possible.

The event lead/teacher/volunteer will call the provided contact information if any Student has not been picked up after the 10 minute grace period. If the event lead/teacher/volunteer needs to leave, the student will be left with a school
administrator (principal or office staff only), if one is on site, until they are picked up. If there is not a school administrative
staff member on site at the school, the child will be left with the River Forest Police Department. All attempts to reach the parent/caregiver will be made and if a voicemail is available a message will be left explaining who the student was left with.

If the pickup policy is violated, the event lead/teacher/volunteer can, at their discretion, take the following actions:

First Offense: Provide verbal and/or written warning which restates the pick up policy.

Second Offense: Provide additional verbal and/or written warning restating the pick up policy and notifying the
parent/caregiver on file that their student has been removed from the PTO sponsored programs, events or activities.
